Dear Boys & Girls Club Family and Community Members,
The past 18 months have been an unprecedented time and one that has affected everyone on so many levels. The Club will be welcoming back youth for our 2021 Summer Program, albeit in small cohorts according to COVID protocols, and at full strength in the after school expanded learning program in fall 2021.
San Leandro Boys & Girls Clubs building at 2200 San Leandro Boulevard is almost finished on the interior with staff potentially moving in by early June 2021. We hope to have the exterior of the property finished by the end of June.
Our vision is becoming reality with new furniture delivered at the end of April and new equipment to be delivered at the end of May. While it has been a long process, the new facility is going to be EXTRAORDINARY and provide opportunities to our youth to learn, create, grow and thrive! From a new Best Buy Teen Tech Center, a Smart City Maker Space, a Music Studio and more, this place will be jumping! The possibilities are endless and we know our teens and youth will expand this vision even further. This has been a remarkable journey and one that took the community working together to bring to fruition. We hope to have some small group tours throughout the summer, so please stay tuned!
The Club is now in its 74th year of service to the San Leandro and surrounding communities. We are fast approaching our 75th anniversary next year and it is a time of reflecting on our past – what was Then, how the Club has evolved, and what is Now – what has been accomplished at this point in time, and planning for our next steps into the future. Working with the administrative team, Board of Directors, alumni, community partners and youth, we are setting a course for the next fifty years of service to young people. We want to ensure that the generations of youth to come will continue to find a place of hope, safety and imagination at the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro.
Stay safe and healthy in the coming months. We will all come through this pandemic to a brighter, more vibrant and inclusive future!

Our Marina Blvd. Building will be renovated once the current capital campaign is complete; it will house a new Teen Center, teen programs, and serve as a community hub, an Imagination station where ideas become real.
THE BGCSL PLAN
A renovated building achieves two goals: helping all youth reach their potential and meeting key community needs through partnerships and an organic use of space, allowing for flexibility and responsiveness to address issues.
Without the help of our partners and supporters like you, the programs and services that we give our kids would not be possible. We rely on the financial support of the community to keep over 1200 kids engaged in safe, impactful, programs every day.
