Program Manager: Rafael Vaca

Originally from Southern California, Rafael has dedicated more than a decade to after-school programs and has been part of the Boys & Girls Clubs organization since 2016. He earned his degree in Film and Sound Design from UC Riverside and went on to complete a Masters in Music Industry Administration, all while teaching music production and media to youth ages 10–18.

Rafael most recently served as the Best Buy Teen Tech Center Coordinator, where he launched hands-on digital media programs, piloted the Teen Tech Internship initiative, and helped teens connect their passions with real-world career pathways.

Today, as Teen Clubhouse Program Manager, Rafael leads all teen programming at BGCSL’s Teen Clubhouse, supporting opportunities in creative arts, leadership, workforce readiness, and wellness. His vision is to cultivate a safe, welcoming space where teens feel a true sense of belonging and are inspired to explore, lead, and grow.

When he’s not at the Club, Rafael can often be found digging through crates at local record stores, catching live shows, or chasing down the best tacos in the Bay Area.
