The new Club Facility renovation project is currently about 70% completed and we hope to have total completion in January 2021. The new facility is going to be EXTRAORDINARY and we are so looking forward to the day when we will be able to serve our children and families in person, whether at our school sites or at the new Club facility. In the meantime, we continue to encourage everyone to do their part to keep family, friends and the community safe. We WILL get through this!
I would also like to take this opportunity to announce that after 23 years as BGCSL Executive Director (and 42 years with Boys & Girls Clubs), I will be retiring at the ends of this year. My time with BGCSL has been a dream, actually multiple dreams, come true. I am extremely proud of our accomplishments and honored to have been able to serve the San Leandro Community.
It gives me great joy to also announce that Kimberly Pace, our current COO, has been selected as my successor. Kim has an extensive background in business and youth development work and she is firmly rooted in San Leandro. In my opinion, there is no one better suited for the job and I’m thrilled.
2021 is going to be an extraordinary year for the Club with a new, modern facility, new CEO, and a new vision for the future and that future could not look brighter. The best is yet to come!

Our Marina Blvd. Building will be renovated once the current capital campaign is complete; it will house a new Teen Center, teen programs, and serve as a community hub, an Imagination station where ideas become real.
THE BGCSL PLAN
A renovated building achieves two goals: helping all youth reach their potential and meeting key community needs through partnerships and an organic use of space, allowing for flexibility and responsiveness to address issues.
Without the help of our partners and supporters like you, the programs and services that we give our kids would not be possible. We rely on the financial support of the community to keep over 1200 kids engaged in safe, impactful, programs every day.
