The 2023-2024 school year is officially underway, and we were thrilled to see so many happy faces in our programs. We are actively hiring and onboarding new program staff members. Over the next few weeks, expanded learning program enrollment at the schools will fluctuate; some families may decide not to attend the after-school program, and more spots may become available. When a spot becomes available, the site’s Program Director or a BGCSL staff member will contact parents on the waitlist. Priority placement will be given to students prioritized by school district needs. To help support teachers at our school sites and out of professional courtesy, we will also try our best to accommodate teachers with afterschool care needs. Per Grant requirements, the program enrollment ratio is 20:1 in grades 1-K and 10:1 in TK-K. FAQs: How does the waitlist work? Our online registration system generates a waitlist when a program is full. If there is no availability within the program, the registration system will keep you updated via notifying families of their waitlist status and next steps. What happens if my child gets waitlisted? The school-site Program Director will contact parents once a space becomes available. Our goal is to provide access to as many youths as possible within our safety guidelines and staff-to-student ratios. Registration priority will be given to foster youths, unhoused students, and students facing special circumstances. Can I find out what number my child is on the waitlist? Enrollment and capacity numbers are constantly in flux during the beginning of the school year, so it is difficult to accurately give waitlist updates. The school-site Program Director will contact parents once a space becomes available. Who can I talk to about my enrollment questions? Please get in touch with our administration team at the Clubhouse by phone, email, or in person. Program Staff at school sites are not able to change enrollment status. |
