School-Site Staff Join Initiatives to Help Families in Need during the Holiday Season

Throughout this holiday season, some of our school-site teams engaged in initiatives to uplift our community. They collaborated with their school’s PTAs and local non-profit organizations to identify families who needed extra support during this festive time. Through these donation drives, they gathered a wide array of gifts, from toys and clothing to household essentials and food. It was inspiring to witness the community come together, making this season truly special for everyone involved.

The team at Dayton Elementary School in San Lorenzo organized their first canned food and toy drive to benefit the Bay Area Rescue Mission in Richmond. Families came together to donate food items and dozens of toys, all delivered just in time for the holidays. Thank you to this incredible community for your unwavering support and commitment to making a positive impact!

Members at Del Rey Elementary in San Lorenzo proudly partnered with the school’s PTA for the Shoebox Project. Together, families filled over 50 shoeboxes with a range of items, including school supplies, toys, and other essential, like toothpaste and cozy new socks. This initiative truly showcases the spirit of our community! Thank you to everyone who contributed.

At Bancroft Middle School in San Leandro, the BGCSL staff came together to volunteer for their PTA’s Winter Wishes, an initiative aimed at supporting families facing hardship. Through the staff’s collective effort, they helped ensure families could experience the joy and warmth of the holidays by providing much-needed gifts, from toys to clothing and other essentials. Their dedication and generosity exemplify the true spirit of giving, making a meaningful impact during a time when it’s most needed.
