Sept. 3, 2024: Today, Kim Pace, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro, and newly appointed Board President Daryl Lee Thomas appeared on KTVU to share recent milestones of the 77-year-old Club, plans for the future and how the Bay Area community can pitch in. Through years-long partnerships with San Leandro Unified School District and San Lorenzo Unified School District, BGCSL has become one of East Bay’s largest after-school care providers, said Pace. The organization is dedicated to providing safe, positive learning environments for young people during the after-school time and anticipates serving even more youth this fiscal year. These can be life-changing experiences, as Thomas attested. He became a Club kid himself when he was just eight years old. To sustain vital programs and meet the needs of local families, Pace shared ways community members and corporate partners can help, from providing financial support to resources and volunteering their time.
