Tuesday, July 26, 2022; San Leandro, CA – The Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro announce the first of two events to launch their 75th Anniversary celebrations. Friday, August 19, 2022, is the Night of Exploration, an evening fundraiser for youth and teen programs. Saturday, August 20, 2022, is the ‘Rock the Block’ grand opening event for the community to tour the newly upgraded facility and enjoy food, music, sports, games, activities and more!
A Night of Exploration will be held at the newly updated Boys and Girls Club of San Leandro at 2200 San Leandro Boulevard, starting at 7:00 p.m. The tickets are $200 per person and may be purchased on the BGCSL website www.bgcsl.org or through eventbrite. This fun and magical evening includes dinner, cocktails, art and music, and special desserts – but that’s not all. The night will include many fun ways to explore the new Club including hands-on exploration activities hosted by Club staff as well as the Lawrence Hall of Science, a golf experience hosted by Monarch Bay Golf Course, science, sports technology, art, and Ghirardelli s’mores among other fun activities and wine pairings.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of San Leandro is celebrating 75 years of service to the San Leandro and surrounding communities. This year marks the launch of newly expanded programs for youth and teens that will connect our kids to the future. The Night of Exploration is a fundraiser for youth and teen programs. It’s also a great opportunity to connect with friends under a beautiful starry night sky. Deadline to purchase tickets is August 8, 2022.
If you don’t want to pay by credit card, you can pay by check. Please make the check payable to the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro. Send your check to the Club at 2200 San Leandro Blvd., San Leandro, CA 94577 or drop it off personally. We must receive your check by no later than August 10, 2022. Our tax identification number is 94-6003779 for your records.
Here are some tips for the evening:
Timing: The event begins at 7 p.m. with cocktails; dinner will begin around 7:15 p.m. to kick off the evening.
Parking: There is NO parking on site at the Clubhouse on Friday. We are offering valet parking; please pull up on the San Leandro Boulevard side entrance and our valets will take your car down to the BART parking lot. You are also welcome to park in the neighborhood.
Explore: We have many fun experiences planned after dinner! Please enjoy yourself walking around the building and try out the activities! Staff will be on hand to answer questions.
