Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro Honored with League of E.A.G.L.E.S. Gold Award for Board Engagement 

BGCSL proudly received the prestigious League of E.A.G.L.E.S. Gold award at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Pacific Regional Conference, held in Phoenix, Ariz. The award recognizes outstanding board engagement, with recipient organizations achieving at least 95 percent board participation in key activities, including board meetings, fundraising efforts, and committee involvement. 

Our Washington Elementary Club site hits a major milestone

Washington Elementary—one of our longest-running San Leandro school-based Club sites—hit a major milestone in September. The Club now serves over 50 percent of its student body in the after-school program.

On October 24th, staff, members, and their families celebrated Lights On Afterschool at our 25 Club sites. This nationwide event recognizes the vital role after-school programs play in the lives of youth, their families, and their communities.

Meet Our New Board Chair Daryl Lee Thomas

We’re excited to announce that Daryl Lee Thomas, a seven-year board member, has been appointed Chair of the Board of Directors for Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro.

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro Expands After-School Programming to New Haven Unified School District in Union City and South Hayward 

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro is thrilled to announce the expansion of its Expanded Learning After-School program to the New Haven Unified School District (NHUSD) in Union City and South Hayward. This exciting partnership will bring high-impact youth enrichment programs during critical non-school hours to Emanuele and Hillview Crest elementary schools, marking the beginning of BGCSL’s involvement in the NHUSD community.
