Aug.1, 2024: We’re excited to announce that Daryl Lee Thomas, a seven-year board member, has been appointed Chair of the Board of Directors for Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro. Most recently, Daryl served as our vice president. Long before that, he was also a Club kid! Daryl joined the Boys & Girls Club of Alameda when he was eight. Growing up in a family with limited resources, Daryl says that being part of the Club provided exposure to arts, athletics, and science that otherwise may not have been possible. “I learned how to set goals,” says Daryl. “If I wasn’t achieving my goals, it taught me to work harder. It was a great opportunity to develop some key life skills.”
