Madison Elementary Club Members Make Blankets to Help Families Facing Homelessness or Domestic Violence

April 11, 2024 – Members at our Madison Elementary School Club site joined forces with Building Futures, a non-profit organization committed to constructing secure and supportive communities for underserved families facing homelessness or domestic violence. Together, they embarked on a project to craft blankets that not only provide warmth but also a sense of security to families transitioning into new homes.

Here’s what some of our members had to say about the volunteer project: “I liked making blankets because it’s good to help others,” said one second-grade member. A fourth-grade member added, “It felt cool helping. I’ve never made a blanket before.”

These blankets will be a part of move-in kits, comprised of essential items to help families turn houses into homes. Learn more about this incredible initiative at BFWC.org/moveinkits
