Teen Creators Earn Global Recognition for Media Projects

Two Clubhouse teens earned international recognition this month for their creative work in digital media. Their projects were selected as winners in the 2025 Clubhouse Network Reach Media Festival, a global showcase celebrating youth storytelling, creativity, and innovation.

Out of more than 163 finalists representing 20 countries, both teens were selected as winners, placing San Leandro in the global spotlight and highlighting the power of youth voice fostered through the Teen Clubhouse and the Best Buy Teen Tech Center.

Both award winning projects began at the Teen Clubhouse through our partnership with KQED’s Youth Media Challenge, where teens explore digital media as a tool for self expression, creativity, and social impact. With access to professional grade technology, mentorship, and a supportive creative environment, teens in the Best Buy Teen Tech Center build real world skills in podcasting, animation, filmmaking, and design while gaining confidence and discovering the impact of their voices.

These recognitions reflect the meaningful work happening every day in our Teen Clubhouse, where teens collaborate, tell their stories, and see themselves as creators and leaders preparing for future careers in creative and digital fields.

Santiago C. earned the Judges Selection Award in the Animation category for his original short film, The Obstacle Course. Through expressive animation and thoughtful visual storytelling, Santiago explores themes of determination, creativity, and perseverance.

We’re incredibly proud of Santiago, Brihanna, and all of our Teen Clubhouse members who continue to learn, create, and collaborate. Their success shows what is possible when teens have the tools, space, and support to share their stories and be heard.
