October 28th, 2023: Over 200 children between the ages of 4 and 12 participated in our first “Create, Make & Take Day” at the Clubhouse. In a collaboration between San Leandro Unified School District, San Lorenzo Unified School District, and BGCSL, the kids were taught various skill-building STEM subjects, such as 3D printing. Using 3D pens, they got to create a variety of objects, including colorful portraits of themselves, their favorite characters and artistic takes on some of their favorite foods, like pizza! Throughout the afternoon, they also learned about robotics, how to build model dinosaurs and glow-in-the-dark bubble bees.
