TK-K After School Program

To best serve this incoming cohort, Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs will remain separate from the 1st-8th grade programs. Led by trained professionals, our program offers a safe, fun environment for kids to explore their interests to unleash their creativity.

Academic Assistance

Each day, we dedicate quiet time for our youngest members to read, complete homework, and get help from our youth development team.

Daily Enrichments

These programs are designed to foster creativity in our kinder members. They may participate in dance, art, and STEM projects.

Supper & Snack

In the critical hours between school getting out and dinner being served, we have an obligation to ensure the kids who spend this time with us develop healthy habits for life. That’s why we provide a free “supper” each day, where every child is served a nourishing snack.

Healthy Lifestyles

From building self-esteem and confidence to providing activities, Clubs offer many ways for members to achieve social, emotional, and physical wellness. During Club hours, kinder members will meditate, learn yoga, or engage in other fun outdoor games.

BGCSL is returning to a fee-based model. We offer a sliding fee scale for families who need financial assistance. Scholarships are based on income and the number of children in the family. No one is turned away due to an inability to pay. To inquire about financial assistance, please email TKTKTK

Children can only attend the program at the school where they are enrolled. There are no programs located on-site at high schools. Teen programming takes place at our main Clubhouse at 2200 San Leandro Blvd., in San Leandro.

Each school site will provide a mandatory parent/caregiver orientation. During orientation, parents will be able to meet our staff and learn about our programs, including Club expectations such as attendance requirements and our code of conduct.

Boys & Girls Clubs programming starts after school and ends at 6 p.m. Children must be signed-out by a preauthorized parent or caregiver by 6 p.m.

Members must be picked up by 6 p.m. If you know you will be late, please contact us immediately. After the first warning, a late fee may apply.

Attendance requirements vary by site and funding sources. We encourage all students in our programs to attend Monday- Friday from school dismissal until 6 p.m. If your child needs to be picked up early, please contact the Program Director for information on the early release process.

To register for the after-school program, you must first register as a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro. After becoming a member, log in to the My Club Hub Parent Portal to register your child. Parents and caregivers will receive a confirmation email post-registration.

Students who are on the waitlist will be prioritized by the San Leandro and San Lorenzo unified school districts. The school-site Program Director will contact parents/caregivers once a space becomes available. We aim to provide access to as many youths as possible within the required staff-to-student ratios. Waitlist priority will be given to foster youths and unhoused students.
