Kyla Sinegal

Kyla Sinegal comes to BGCSL having held positions as an experienced Human Resources leader with demonstrated history working in the public, nonprofit and private sector, and currently serves as the Board President of the San Lorenzo Unified School District.

She began serving as an elected Governing Board Member of the San Lorenzo Unified School District in 2016, and previously served as a California School Employees Association (CSEA) Labor Relations Representative and Political Organizer.  Kyla is a seasoned HR professional and subject matter expert in the areas of employment relations, recruitment and selection, diversity and cultural competency in the workplace, performance management, and public education policy development.

Kyla recently served as a Regional Human Resources Director with Aspire Public Schools, served as a Sr. Human Resources Consultant with CPS HR Services, and as a Human Resources professional for the Alameda County Office of Education. Kyla has served in roles as a Human Resources Director, Human Resources Manager, Sr. Human Resources Generalist, Human Resources Analyst, and as a Human Resources Specialist.  Kyla’s passion is to serve public education with a focus on student academic achievement and she is a true equity warrior and social justice champion. Kyla believes if we are going to move the needle for student excellence and academic success to ensure we are creating safe environments for our scholars to learn, grow and develop, courageous conversations must be in the subject of the conversation.  She is an Oakland native equestrian and dedicated community servant. In Kyla’s personal time, she enjoys spending time with her family and two children, training and riding horses, attending rodeos, introducing inner city youth to the equine horse environment, and attending educational conferences that are geared towards student academic achievement and policy development.
