Adrian Taylor

Adrian Taylor is the Clubhouse Director at Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro. Before joining the BGCSL, Adrian founded and managed a consulting firm focused on youth development, health, and well-being, in addition to being a Lecturer at Cal State East Bay, teaching Black Literature, African Geography, and Global Studies.

Adrian is originally from Oakland, but lived and worked in the Washington D.C., Metropolitan area for a number of years where he attended Howard University on a baseball scholarship, earning his BA and MA in Philosophy and his Ph.D. in African Studies. Upon earning his Ph.D., Adrian was a professor, federal government consultant, and entrepreneur for more than 10 years.

Adrian is excited to be back home, in a position where he can make a significant impact, tapping into his passion for youth development, program design, management, and evaluation, technology, the arts, and sports. When Adrian is not at the Clubhouse, he enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and friends; cooking a new dish (at the time of writing, he just made a bomb Shepherd’s Pie) trying a new restaurant, listening to new music, reading, doing yoga, surfing, or watching a San Francisco Giants game.
