From community volunteer events to Teen Clubhouse programs, Keystone Leadership Club teens spent 2025 actively leading, organizing, and engaging their peers through a series of youth-driven initiatives.
Keystone teens kicked off the season by taking on leadership roles at Downtown San Leandro’s It’s a Wonderful NightHoliday Market. Volunteering in the heart of the city, members served Ghirardelli hot chocolate, connected with families and community members, and represented the Teen Program as ambassadors for the Club. The experience offered hands-on opportunities to practice communication, teamwork, and public engagement while making a visible impact throughout San Leandro.
Taking the lead on event planning, Keystone members co-hosted a Wonderful Winter Holiday Dinner and Movie Night at the Teen Clubhouse. Teens ran activities, and helped shape a festive, inclusive atmosphere throughout the evening. With a holiday meal prepared by Ms. Ty, featuring mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, greens, smoked turkey, and brisket, Keystone teens led arts and crafts stations with DIY snow globes and ornament making, hosted a holiday photo booth, organized interactive gym games, and distributed popcorn and goodie bags, creating a lively and memorable night for all who attended.
The year culminated with a Keystone Leadership Club retreat. Kayaking on the bay challenged members to work together, support one another, and, for many, try something new for the first time. The experience underscored the importance of stepping outside comfort zones and building confidence through shared challenges.
Together, these moments underscore a year of leadership and growth for Keystone teens, and we’re excited to see how that momentum carries into the spring.
