Exploring Futures at the Black College Expo

Teen Clubhouse members attended the 24th Annual Black College Expo in Oakland, where they had the chance to connect with college representatives, including historically black colleges and universities, and learn more about admissions requirements and what colleges look for in applicants.

BGCSL members and families connected with representatives from historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and other higher education institutions to learn about academic programs, scholarship opportunities, and the college experience. The event also featured seminars on financial aid, the benefits of attending an HBCU, the transition from high school to college, and how to start a business. It provided students and with valuable information and an opportunity to ask questions while exploring future pathways in higher education.

Teens also took part in a How to Grow Your Business workshop, where they learned practical tips about entrepreneurship, leadership, and turning ideas into action. We’re proud of these teens for putting themselves out there, asking questions, and staying open to new experiences that help shape their future.
