October 2023 – Golfers gathered for the 21st Annual Ghirardelli Golf Classic at Ruby Hill Golf Club in Pleasanton on October 16, 2023, raising a record-breaking $345,000 for vital teen programming at the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro.
Through sponsorships, live and silent auctions, and a fund-a-need program, participants helped continue a great partnership between the San Leandro-based chocolate company and BGCSL. Proceeds from this event will help fund Teen Center programming for youth in San Leandro, San Lorenzo, and surrounding communities. Services range from after-school enrichments to workforce development and college prep courses, college campus tours, and more.
In addition to the tournament, cocktail reception, and dinner, this year’s event included a new opportunity to ‘Beat the Pro’ opportunity on Hole 17 with professional golfer Kaira Martin. Players also had the chance to enlist a golf-ball-carrying drone, flying their team’s ball above the green for a chance at a hole-in-one on Hole 9.
